Getting Started
Welcome to PMU Monday! PMU automatically generates project management reports from your monday.com workspace and presents them through dashboard widgets designed for managers, team leaders, and individual contributors.
This guide explains what happens after installation and how to begin viewing reports.
What Happens After Installation?
After the PMU application is installed and authorized for your monday.com account, your account is added to the PMU report generation queue.
PMU periodically analyzes your monday.com workspace and generates reports that provide a high-level view of:
- Projects currently being worked on
- Team member effort by project
- Work allocation across the organization
- Project and resource activity trends
Reports are generated automatically by the PMU server and refreshed on a recurring schedule. Depending on system load and when your account enters the processing queue, it may take some time before your first reports become available.
Creating a Dashboard
PMU reports are displayed through monday.com dashboard widgets.
To begin using PMU:
- Create a new monday.com Dashboard.
- Add one or more PMU dashboard widgets.
- Wait for your first report generation cycle to complete.
- Open the widgets to view available reports.
If you are new to monday.com dashboards, refer to the monday.com documentation:
- monday.com Dashboards: The Dashboards
- Configuring Dashboard Widgets: Configure Your Dashboard
These articles explain how to create dashboards, add widgets, and customize dashboard layouts.
PMU Dashboard Widgets
PMU provides three primary dashboard widgets.
PMU Team Leader
The PMU Team Leader widget displays reports that include all people within the scope of your PMU account.
These reports are intended for managers and team leads who need a top-down view of team activity.
Typical reports include:
- Effort by project
- Team workload distribution
- Resource utilization summaries
- Project activity reports
Reports may be presented as:
- Markdown reports
- Tabular CSV reports
PMU Member
The PMU Member widget displays reports that are scoped to the currently logged-in monday.com user.
These reports help individual contributors understand:
- Their assigned work
- Project participation
- Personal effort summaries
- Activity history
Like Team Leader reports, Member reports may be delivered in either Markdown or CSV format.
Tenant Resources
The Tenant Resources widget provides visibility into the status of your PMU account on the PMU server.
This widget is primarily intended for administrators and advanced users.
Information displayed may include:
- Last successful graph build time
- Next scheduled graph build time
- Report generation status
- Server-side resource information
- Processing and scheduling details
If reports are not appearing as expected, this widget is often the best place to verify that PMU processing is occurring normally.
Report Formats
PMU currently supports two report formats:
Markdown Reports
Markdown reports provide narrative summaries and analysis that are easy to read directly within the PMU report viewer.
These reports are useful for:
- Executive summaries
- Management reviews
- Project status overviews
- Resource analysis
CSV Reports
CSV reports provide structured tabular data.
These reports are useful when you need to:
- Sort and filter results
- Export data for further analysis
- Review detailed project metrics
- Work with large datasets
